My first and official LP “Basic Strategy” is finished and ready to be released!

I never stopped working on music even after “The Notebook” was released and now, after one year, I finally have a product I can present.

Ailee, Decipher, DJ Zo, EXP (aka Explicit Linez), James Ha, JL, Lyricks, Manifest, Sam Ock, Schoolboy DUKE, Shogunna, and Viruss 44 are all on the album
I’m going to save rest of the detail for when it’s finally released. You just gon have to wait till January 19th!!!

Tomorrow – November 10, 2009, I will be performing for Asian Hiphop Summit Rutgers University.

I just came back from performing for Philly Asian Hiphop Summit and it was a crazy feeling just vibing with all these great MC’s and DJ’s. If you are a hiphop fan, this is one event you do NOT want to miss!! This is a nationwide tour and if Rutgers is your stop, make sure to stop by. The best thing about the Rutgers show is that it’s FREE. You have nothing to lose. Come and enjoy the show and support the movement!

A couple weeks ago, I performed for New York Chuseok Festival in Flushing, home of NY Mets, Citi Field.

I was pretty excited because this is where I “started” last year with JYP USA Audition. Getting invited to perform again was an honor for me.

But then again, let me tell you, I thought it was pretty ridiculous considering it was pouring outside since the night before and the event was outside.

It was 11:45am and we were half way there, stuck in rain and traffic. I was suppose to be on stage at 1pm so I thought we were pretty good. Then my manager gets a phone call that things have been pushed up and I have to go on stage in 15 minutes!! This is my manager Soonho stressed out haha

And of course you see Decipher just chillin’, saying everything’s coo

We tell them it’s IMPOSSIBLE and we’ll get there as soon as possible. After a few phone calls back and forth, we get them to push it back and we manage to get there before my time on stage. At this point, I’m still thinking, am I REALLY going to perform in this rain??

Surprisingly , there were a lot of people with their umbrella, waiting for the show. I felt real blessed. And something about rain just added another element to the show. It got me more excited and made me wanna act silly on stage haha. All in all, it was a successful event and thank you everyone that came out to support the event!

Considering that it was such a rainy day, I was really excited to meet JohnnyPhlo. I have heard of him from being a member of the Soompi Forums from other people. They said that he was so good that he made it to the finals for the JYP Auditions. That really WOW’ed me and added to my excitement in meeting him.

I met one of his managers at a Korean Café called Elé since he was in the city at that moment and we immediately got seated and started talking about Johnny’s works as well preparing for the interview. Johnny ended up being a little bit late, which I didn’t mind at all, after all it is Johnny Phlo and plus, the weather in New York was such a conflict.

Johnny finally showed up and we clicked at that moment. He is such an amazing person with a humble personality along with a person who has no shame in what he says. That is the one thing I like about people, that they are straightforward about how they feel and they don’t hold back on it, HOWEVER they think of what they say BEFORE they say it. That’s JohnnyPhlo for you. I hope whoever is reading this understands what I’m trying to say.

Our interview went well, we laughed a lot and had a lot of fun… at least I did! And on top of that this interview was made on the day before his birthday so I’m sure he was excited that he was turning the big 22! Thank you so much Johnny for taking the time out to have coffee and chat with SRC on that rainy day. We hope to hear from you again soon!
